A series of leaked images of the rear casing of the iPhone 6 show that Apple is taking a fresh approach toward its design with a slimmer, larger and round-edged model.

Apple's success with iPhone 5S is indisputable and in a bid to replicate that in its next iteration, Apple is apparently working hard on a sleek design.  In a blog post Wednesday, Sonny Dickson posted what appears to be the rear casing of the rumored iPhone 6 with a refreshed design. The press renders of the rear-casing show iPhone 6 featuring the company's signature camera and flash ports, but with a significant design change.

"We've gotten our hands on some great photos of the iPhone's rear casing in Space Grey- and just as always, it looks absolutely astonishing," Dickson wrote in his blog.

The leaked images of the supposed iPhone 6 hint at a larger screen, which has widely been reported by other sources. A report from South China Morning Post, citing industry insiders, pointed that iPhone 6 will arrive in two sizes, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch, and will hit stores in September. Apple might be sticking to its newly formed tradition of launching two handsets, like it did with iPhone 5S and 5C.

The report also adds that Apple will discontinue its iPhone 5C model, clearly because the colorful version of the iPhone did not attract as many customers as its gold, silver and space grey iPhone model. Apple has not commented either on the existence of iPhone 6 or about discontinuing the iPhone 5C model.

If Apple is considering the option of pulling down the less favorite iPhone 5C from the market, it will be the company's first ever misstep in its mobile segment in the entire history of iPhone.

Another report from MacRumors suggests that the iPHone 6 will be bezel-free, with the display neatly covering the sides of the screen. The device is expected to be fitted with sapphire glass display, making it thin, light and durable, as the Cupertino tech giant landed a deal with GT Advanced to set a plant in Mesa, Ariz to manufacture sapphire crystal components.

Dickson also shared the photos of the iPhone 6 casing via his Twitter account.
