An ex-convict rushed into the store during a quarrel, and the New York City bodega worker who was charged with second-degree murder after allegedly fatally stabbing him wanted to avoid the argument altogether, new footage reveals.

Harmony Montgomery's mother claims that her previous boyfriend, who had custody of the kid, knows exactly where their missing daughter is.

Crystal Sorey, Harmony's mother, exchanged text messages with the Boston Globe on Tuesday after learning that her ex, Adam Montgomery, had been charged with second-degree assault and firearms charges. Montgomery has pled not guilty to the accusations and is being held without bail.

Sorey told the paper that she had asked Montgomery several times where their daughter, who had not been seen in January 2019, was. She also requested permission to talk with Montgomery, who she believes will tell her where Harmony is simply to spite her.

In January, Adam Montgomery was charged with assault in connection with an incident in 2019 in which he reportedly hit Harmony. The gun accusations had nothing to do with Harmony's disappearance. Harmony was formally reported missing by Manchester police in December 2021, even though she had not been seen in years.

According to court records unsealed earlier this year, authorities got a call from Sorey on November 18, 2021, that her kid was gone. Sorey informed cops that Adam had physical custody of the girl and that she couldn't reach him.

Sorey went on to say that she lost custody of Harmony in 2018 due to drug problems. According to Sorey, Adam Montgomery barred her calls and social media and refused to let her talk to Harmony after Easter 2019, Crime Online reported.

On Tuesday, Adam Montgomery was indicted in New Hampshire court on seven gun offenses, including weapons theft and being a felon in possession of a handgun. His attorneys claim there have been discussions about a plea agreement to address some of Montgomery's allegations, but no formal negotiations have taken place.

Following Montgomery's court appearance on Tuesday, Sorey stated that she hopes Montgomery would divulge information on Harmony's whereabouts to lessen any jail term. The concerned mother further stated that she believes he may leak case details only to spite her.

Sorey previously told authorities that she last saw Harmony on a video chat around Easter 2019 while living in an apartment with Montgomery, and that the small child appeared "frightened."

Montgomery told detectives that he last saw Harmony around Thanksgiving of this year when he delivered her to Sorey. Prosecutors contend that this assertion is untrue. He hasn't been prosecuted for the disappearance of the child, but other charges against the convicted felon are stacking up.

Montgomery was indicted on two charges of felon in possession of a firearm, theft by unauthorized taking, one count of receiving stolen goods, and two counts of armed career criminal at a hearing on Tuesday.

Adam Montgomery Indicted With New Charges

The additional allegations, for which he has not yet been arraigned, say that in September or October 2019, he stole a shotgun and rifle from someone named only CF. Montgomery was in breach of the law by possessing the pistol due to his past criminal convictions in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Montgomery may face three different trials for the accusations against him. Prosecutors had asked the judge to separate his weapons charges, assault allegations for allegedly giving Harmony a black eye, and a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

While investigators continue to investigate what happened to Harmony, the state will pursue the gun-related allegations as the first case. Montgomery's trial on gun charges is set for November, with the final pre-trial hearing on October 27.

Montgomery has been imprisoned since January on a second-degree assault allegation involving his daughter, including neglecting to have her in his control and endangering her welfare. He was charged with taking a weapon and a shotgun before Harmony's abduction in April.

Kayla, his estranged wife, was charged with welfare fraud after she applied for food assistance in the child's name after she was last seen alive. Harmony, who was blind in one eye, was in the care of her father at the time of her abduction after her mother, Crystal Sorey, lost custody due to drug misuse concerns in July 2018.

"We have been warned by officials that this is unlikely to result in a favorable end or the outcome we had hoped for, for Jamison and Harmony to be reunited together," said Johnathon Miller, Harmony's adoptive father, according to Fox News.

Investigators found earlier this year that Harmony had been homeless and lived out of a car with her family in the days leading up to her abduction, after being evicted from the Union Street apartment on November 27 - a date that coincides with the girl's disappearance, as per Daily Mail.
