No. 8 Duke responded to their 91-89 loss to Syracuse by stringing together two consecutive wins.  The Blue Devils (19-5) head into Wednesday's contest looking for their third straight win after easily dispatching Wake Forest and Boston College.

Duke believes their have helped them to improve and, with March around the corner, learn how they must play to win games.

"We realize that playing defense and locking in on the defensive end is the way we're going to win," senior guard Tyler Thornton said, via the Associated Press.  "Early in the season, we relied a lot on our offense and trying to outscore people, but we weren't playing defense and using our athleticism and our speed and our quickness to our abilities."

Having a projected top NBA draft pick on their team adds even more pressure to win.  Jabari Parker, Duke's leading scorer with 19.2 points per game, could go No. 1 overall in 2014 if he declares, which puts even more scrutiny on each game the Blue Devils lose.

"I definitely think we've been playing with an edge, just because we've taken some tough losses," sophomore forward Amile Jefferson said.  "We think about our past games, our past losses, it puts a fire in us.  ... Right now, we're just playing with fire and a fight.'

Unranked North Carolina, meanwhile, sits with a 16-7 record after winning five straight games.  Marcus Paige has emerged as the team's leading scorer with  17.0 points per game and is a big reason for the Tar Heels' current winning streak.

"He's a whole different animal," Duke junior guard Quinn Cook said.  "He's way more aggressive and I think he has that confidence where he's played in big games - Louisville, Michigan State, Kentucky - and he's performed well.  ...  He's taken his game to a whole new level."
