Zelensky's aide goes after Germany for the 5,000 helmets it owes, even as Ukraine falls in the LPR and DPR.

Zelensky's aide went on the record that Kyiv is still waiting for the 5,000 helmets that never arrived despite Berlin's promise. He added the equipment was expected even before the start of the Russian offensive. Saying that Ukraine's demands have been ignored by German officials incensed Kyiv even more.

A tantrum is the least of officials' worries

The aide expressed disappointment at how Germany will rather spend 100 billion Euros for its military forces last Tuesday, reported RT.

Alexey Arestovich, in an interview with a YouTube blogger, said that he expects assistance from Germany but still insists on the 5,000 helmets. He recognized that Berlin had sent some weapons to Ukraine, such as grenade launchers and anti-tank missiles. However, he said he'd have to check with the defense ministry for a comprehensive list, cited the Press United.

The helmets were offered to Ukraine last January before the special operation in Donbas was launched. Unlike the US and the UK, which were airlifting hundreds of anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles, the German government was apprehensive about becoming more generous.

Berlin is against escalating conflicts over weapons supplies, and it doubted Washington's assertions that Russia was preparing a military operation against its neighbor.

Ukrainians wanted a more substantial commitment from Berlin; when the helmets were offered, it was considered condescending.

Germany Spends for Its Defense

In the interview, the Zelensky aide Arestovich reacted to the rearming of the German forces costing billions. It could be alleged that Volodymyr Zelensky expected the EU state to pledge weapons if he asked for it. Why did the 5,000 helmets not arrive yet?

He added that Berlin is rearming for its glory and that the Bundeswehr will be moving out over uncut fields. Called the investment crazy and twice the yearly military budget of Russia, cited Zomaloma.

Commitment To Support Ukraine

Chancellor Olaf Scholz's promises to make the German army the largest conventional force in Europe were questioned by Arestovich. He believes that the news deserves far more coverage in the media than it receives and is, therefore, unlikely to be true.

Upset that Scholz never followed up on his promises, implying that a leader who does prioritize his people is not trustworthy enough. He said Germans should rethink politicians, thinking the good of their country must be considered.

One of the problems is that the German chancellor is not ready to commit to supporting Ukraine, and it makes the Kyiv government unhappy with all the rants that cannot change how things are.

Sadly, the Ukraine ambassador to Germany, Andrey Melnik, has resorted to unsavory remarks about German leaders. Ukraine does name-calling any state that does not let it have its way.

On week earlier, Scholz indicated that one of Germany's most advanced weapons, the IRIS-T SL air defense system, would be supplied to fortify its military capabilities.

According to the German defense ministry, it is so new that its army does not have it yet, but it will have to request it straight from the manufacturer.

Arestovich insisted on the 5,000 helmets promised while going on the usual tantrums, which even the Ukrainian leaders do to get the support needed, but Germany is not budging.
