Social media influencer Erika Kullberg once again shared a helpful tip for millions of travelers in the United States.

The TikTok superstar lawyer reveals an effective technique to extend your travel voucher.

She advised her more than 9 million followers to talk with the airline to check if it would be possible to extend the validity of the travel vouchers for you.
"Explain your situation to them" and give the reason why you cannot make it to travel before the expiration date.

She said in her recent TikTok video many followers shared that airlines were able to extend their travel vouchers "just by asking." In some cases, some customers got their vouchers extended even without asking.

"For airline tickets that are purchased at least seven days before a flight's scheduled departure date and time, airlines are required to either: allow consumers to cancel their reservation and receive a full refund without a penalty for 24 hours, or allow consumers to reserve a ticket (place it on hold) at the quoted prices without paying for the ticket for 24 hours."

However, the lawyer said to "check terms for your specific airline" as they have different policies on refunds.

Who are Eligible to a Refund?

According to the US Department of Transportation, customers are entitled to a refund of the ticket price and/or associated fees if the following conditions apply to them:

Canceled Flight - If an airline cancels a flight for whatever reason and the customer chooses not to fly, the customer is entitled to a refund.

Schedule Change/Significant Delay -If an airline makes a major schedule adjustment and/or greatly delays a trip, and the consumer chooses not to fly.

Class of Service Change - If a customer is involuntarily transferred to a lower service class, the customer is entitled to a refund. For instance, if a customer booked a first-class ticket and was then demoted to the economy owing to an aircraft change, the customer is entitled to the difference in costs.

Optional Service Fees - If a customer is unable to use an optional service (for example, baggage fees, seat upgrades, or in-flight Wi-Fi) owing to flight cancellation, delay, schedule change, or involuntary denial of boarding, the client is entitled to a refund of the amounts paid for the optional service.

Baggage Fees - If a consumer paid a baggage fee and the airline claimed his or her baggage was misplaced, the consumer is entitled to a reimbursement
Whether it comes to determining when a suitcase is lost, different airlines may have varying policies. The majority of airlines will declare a suitcase lost between five and fourteen days following the flight.

Fully refundable ticket - Consumers who purchase fully refundable tickets are entitled to a refund if they do not utilize their purchased ticket to complete their journey.
