Flappy Bird developer claims to be working on a Windows Phone version, but the popular screen-tap game already appeared on Windows Phone Store, published by a different developer.

Flappy Bird, the popular screen-tap mobile game, went viral among Android and iOS users, but Windows Phone users were left in the dark. The creator of the official Flappy Bird, Vietnam-based Dong Nguyen, constantly expressed his difficulty in developing the game for Windows Phone users. But with his support or not, a different publisher IG Mobile took the initiative to give the taste of Flappy Bird to Windows Phone users.

Flappy Bird went viral out beacuse of sudden interest from users regarding the game, which Nguyen claims to be completely out of luck. The success of the game can be analyzed by Nguyen's recent revelations about the company's daily earnings through advertisements raked up to $50,000. The game was originally launched in May 2013, but its recent popularity has brought the game in the top ranks of Apple App Store and Google Play Store charts.

The unofficial version of Flappy Bird supports Windows Phone 7.5 and WP8, and has managed to get a four-star ranking by 3,398 reviewers, which is comparatively higher to the official Flappy Bird iOS version, but not even close the Android counterpart.

As for the game's creator, replying to one of the users on Twitter, Nguyen revealed that the game is sent for Microsoft's approval and would take up to 10 days, which was said last Saturday. This means the official version of the game is just around the corner and the Windows Phone users can finally see what the Android and iOS users have been experiencing for the past couple of days.

Nguyen is active on Twitter, answering to almost all queries that users have about his game and acknowledging their excitement.
