Emma Watson says she's alright with doing nude scenes on screen if the role and the script demand it.

Watson is ready to move on from her teenage role of Hermione in the "Harry Potter" series to more serious and mature roles, including nude scenes if the movie demands.

"It's very exciting that people are starting to see me in a different way," she told reporters. "It means that they're allowing me the space to grow and develop and reincarnate myself.

"I've been saying since I was 16 that if it's the right role and important for character development and the story, then of course I'll do it (shoot a nude scene). I'm an actress."

Watson recently spoke to Ellen DeGeneres on her show that will be aired Thursday. The English actress talks about dating and why she prefers dating American guys rather than Brits.

"English guys are very well put together," the Harry Potter wizard said in the interview. "They dress really well and they are very well mannered. But they are also very restrained. Usually in the whole courting situation, I'm used to being first of all, ignored for the first two months of the ritual. And then maybe they'll acknowledge my presence. Then, they'll probably be a little mean to me. And then, maybe we'll, you know...whatever."

So what does Watson think of American guys?

"Then I arrive in America," she recalled, "and I remember a few nights into Brown [University], this guy just being like, 'I like you. You're great. Let's go on a date. Let's do it.' I'm like, 'I'm sorry, what just happened?' This is like a huge culture shock for me. They're very like open and very straight-forward-but they wear flip-flops and I don't know if I like that."
