Yesterday's episode of "Pretty Little Liars" had a bunch of really peculiar moments. Let's recap Liar by Liar:

Aria:

Aria returned home from a movie with Emily to find that Mike was throwing a party. Now, if that was Mike's only annoyance of the night, everything would have been fine. However, Aria and Emily walked upstairs to find Mona, yes Mona, coming out of Aria's bedroom. They exchanged the usual pleasantries. (Mona accused Aria and the Liars of cutting her off even after she helped get Hanna's mom out of prison. Aria explained that, quite frankly, Mona's not trustworthy.) Oh and to make matters worse, Mike had invited Mona to the party. However, that's not the last of the peculiar events for Aria. The next day she spotted Mona and Mike at school and they looked to be getting pretty cozy. At this point, Aria had seen enough and decided to confront Mona. The former "A" explained she and Mike had been put together in a group by the school's new guidance counselor, Jesse. When Aria took her argument to Jesse, he explained he thought Mona and Mike could help each other. However, he also felt Aria had some unresolved anger issues. The eldest Montgomery sibling explained she simply didn't want to see her brother hurt. Aria's day got worse after she later saw Mike and Mona in an intense makeout session. (Go Mike.) Now let's turn to the Ezra side of Aria's life. It seems Maggie was in town to pick up some stuff to take back to Seattle, however she didn't bring Malcolm with her. She and Ezra began to argue as Aria stepped into Ezra's classroom. Later in the episode Aria approached Maggie in the parking lot and the two began arguing. And yes, Maggie played the you're-the-highschool-girl-who-slept-with-her-teacher card. During the argument, Aria caused Maggie to drop her things. Aria was worried that this incident would hurt Ezra's case to spend more time with Malcolm. However, Ezra later assured her, everything would be alright. On a side note Ezra had a meeting in his classroom with Mona during this episode - with the door closed. Hmmm.....

Hanna:

This was a very peculiar episode for Hanna since she pretty much turned into Sherlock Holmes. Hanna recently became interested in mystery novels. Like REALLY interested. As she was out looking for her next mystery novel, Det. Holbrook decided to give her a reading suggestion while also apologizing for the hand he had in arresting Hanna's mom. They later meet at the cafe, where Hanna asks Holbrook for a hint about the book's plot. Holbrook mentions something about the dental records...which gets Hanna thinking. She decides to set an appointment at the dentist so she can sneak into the file room. There she was able to get Ali's dental records. However, instead of her usual dentist, A was kind enough to "fill-in" (yes, that pun was intended). When Hanna awoke from the anesthesia-induced sleep in which A put her, she was bleeding. After arriving at Aria's house, Hanna explained what happened to the best of her ability. Spencer soon realized A had implanted his usual unfriendly message - on a mini scroll-inside Hannah's pearly whites.

Emily:

This was a tough episode for Emily. She was still reeling from the events of last episode in which she met with Ali. Emily was still mad at Spencer at the start of this episode. Spencer was not invited to the movies with Emily and Aria. Emily also gave Spencer the cold shoulder in school. Emily even stopped talking to Hanna because Hanna wouldn't stop talking to Spencer. It didn't take long for Emily's father to notice she wasn't fine at all. He asked about it but Em's denied anything was seriously wrong. There was even an incident where Emily heard someone trying to get into her room. Although it seemed as if the intruder would enter through the window, Emily waited for them at her room door. When the door opened, Emily was ready to attack them with her scissors. If her father didn't have ninja like reflexes, he might have lost an eye. Worrying about his daughter, Em's father went to Mr. Fitz. He asked if Fitz would help Emily by making her help out after school with Fitz's play. Mr. Fields also mentioned to Fitz that living with Mrs. DiLaurentis may have taken a toll on Emily since Ali's mom acts as if her daughter could come home any minute. Fitz seemed pretty interested in that tidbit of information. Nevertheless while Emily was helping out after school - while it was dark out - A decided he would go after her. The power in the school went off and Emily had to barricade herself in a room as A tried to force his way in. Emily's father had to rescue her out of a second story window by climbing up some piping. However, once he and Emily reached the ground again, he collapsed. Emily's dad had to admit to his daughter he came home from duty because he was having health issues.

Spencer:

The young Miss Hastings finally had a breakthrough with Ali's old stories. (On a side note, Spencer decided she would start self-medicating this episode. She was able to get some pills from her former debate teammate Andrew.) As she was deciphering Ali's journals, Spencer traced once interaction between Ali and board shorts to a bar called The Hart & The Huntsman. She realized Ali and this person, kissed and that this person ate boysenberry pie and beer while visiting the bar. Spence decided to take a trip out to the bar. There she ran into a pretty surprising person - for her not for us viewers - Mr. Fitz. And what did Fitz order? Boysenberry pie. He quickly said hi to Spencer, told the waitress to cancel the rest of his order and then left the bar. However, the waitress, brought the rest of Fitz's order to the table anyway. A beer. She figured she was doing Spencer a favor by letting Spencer enjoy an underage drinking experience. However, Spencer was more interested in the label on the bottle than the drink in the bottle. So what was the name of the beer? "Board Shorts Ale."
