A law enforcement official in Dallas has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman while on the clock, according to a report from NBC.

The Dallas Police Department told reporters that Officer La'Cori Johnson stopped a woman on Sept. 9 last year on the 3200 block of Larga Drive. He informed the woman that there was a warrant out for her arrest, and that he would only let her go if she'd engage in sexual intercourse with him.

Johnson was on duty at the time.

The 28-year-old cop then moved to a location nearby and forced the woman to copulate, NBC reported. He let the woman go at yet another location in the area shortly thereafter.

The victim, whose name has not yet been publicized, alerted police of the event. The Office of Internal Affairs then opened a probe into the alleged assault.

Johnson was arrested on Tuesday, after he stepped down from his position in the force.

He's been charged with sexual assault-a second degree felony, according to NBC.

The Dallas Police Department's Public Integrity Unit has been tasked with the remainder of the investigation.

Johnson, who worked with Dallas Police since April 2009, has not yet had his bond set.
