Beyoncé and Jay Z opened the 2014 Grammy Awards with a sultry and sexy performance of "Drunk in Love." The 32-year-old singer began the performance by dancing on a chair until she was joined on stage by the "Magna Carta" rapper.

Beyoncé, who wore a sheer thong bodysuit over fishnet stockings, then danced and twerked her way towards Jay Z. In the middle of the touchy-feely performance Jay Z planted a kiss on his wife while grabbing her butt. Even though Beyoncé and Jay Z were completely comfortable displaying major PDA for the audience and the viewers at home, not everyone felt the performance was suitable for the awards show.

Parents and critics immediately took to Twitter to express their dislike over the opening performance. Some suggested that the "XO" singer and Jay Z should have closed the show instead while others blasted CBS and the Grammys for airing such a racy performance while kids were still up.

"Come on people!! Yeah Beyoncé has an amazing voice but that outfit?!?!?!? Completely no class. Give children something to look up to #absurd," @kdstapp tweeted

"All it took was a clip of Beyoncé twerking to say I would never let my children watch the Grammys. Won't even go into the other reasons..." @lwsimmons commented.

"Grammy Awards... Beyoncé... there might be children watching," @mlheinen posted.

"Skipped Beyoncé and JayZ because children awake. Will YouTube later. Thankfully Macklemore and Lorde are fam favs AND they wear clothes," @sleighs79 wrote.

Other Twitter users compared the performance to Miley Cyrus' VMA performance with Robin Thicke. At the time, Cyrus received a lot backlash for grinding and twerking on Thicke.

Neither Beyoncé nor Jay Z has responded to the backlash.
