Analysts Ming-Chi Kuo has made a series of predictions about the new iPhones which will be launched this year. The new models will include the old 5W USB-A adapter but will have a wireless charger which will be sold separately.

KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo made several predictions regarding iPhones which will be released in 2017. According to Kuo, iPhone 8 will not bear fingerprint recognition instead it might have facial recognition as one of the security features. This claim was supported by a report from Bloomberg, which stated that a highly developed facial recognition technology will be present in iPhone 8.

The second prediction made indicates that iPhone 8 will flaunt a glass body and metal frames in order to assist Wireless Power Consortium functionality. Reports from Mac Rumors further state that users will need to purchase a discretionary accessory along with the new iPhones for the enjoying the wireless charging features and therefore, wireless charging is not a feature that will be available to all.

Rumors also suggest that the smartphone will hold up inductive charging feature instead of a proper wireless feature. Kuo has said that the smartphone will have the identical 5W power adapter outfitted with USB-A port but the smartphone might also include a fixed USB-C power delivery IC.

Another prediction made by Kuo is about the RAM that the new iPhones will have. According to him, the small 4.7-inch iPhone 7 will have a 2GB RAM and the larger 8.8-inch iPhone 8 and medium sized 5.5-inch iPhone 7 will have 3GB RAM. Kuo believes that the DRAM transfer rate in all the new iPhone will be quicker than iPhone 7 for an improved AR performance. Other predictions made in the final note includes limited color availability, 64 and 256 GB internal storage, 3D sensing for facial recognition and a better speaker system.
