Adrian Peterson free agency situation is taking another turn this offseason. Latest news is saying that the 32-year old running back is set to visit the New Orleans Saints in the coming days. Will New Orleans be the new home for Peterson next season?

Adrian Peterson, who was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2007 NFL draft, was unexpectedly released by the Vikings after they decline to exercise the 2017 player option to Peterson. With that, he is said to be the best available running back that is surprisingly still unsigned up to this time.

Adrian Peterson had his visit with the Seattle Seahawks last month but he came out without signing a contract with them. Last Monday, he also met with the New England Patriots but went without a contract again. And now, he is set to have his third visit in free agency.

According to NFL.com, Adrian Peterson is scheduled to meet to the New Orleans Saints next week. After the failed negotiation with the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, Peterson is hoping that the deal with the Saints could end on an agreement.

And coincidentally, the Saints do need to fill in the running back spot after they let Tim Hightower leave and signed with San Francisco 49ers. Though there is an opportunity to pick up a running back in the draft, the Saints are thinking about how Peterson could still help their power back line. There is no doubt that Peterson has the vast experience and skills that can very useful to other teams.

Adrian Peterson was once the NFL Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year. In ten seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Peterson has registered 11,747 rushing yards and 97 rushing touchdowns. His passing game is something to note also as he had 241 excellent reception for 1,945 yards and 5 touchdowns.
