When Rupert Sanders and Kristen Stewart were caught kissing each other in 2012 and admitted to having an affair, the scandal hit headlines and both offered apologies for hurting their respective partners but now Sanders has spoken about the affair in some detail. He has said that it was a mistake and all make mistakes in life.

Rupert Sanders and Kristen Stewart hit headlines in 2012 after their clandestine affair was exposed and now the "Snow White" director has broken his silence over the scandal. According to ELLE, Sanders has said that one never knows what is coming in life and around every corner, there is something unexpected. In his views, this is what life is and one just has to brush oneself off and continue to move forward towards the best one can.

Speaking about the misstep, he said that everyone makes mistakes and he is bound to make more. Also, he would not expect his life to be exciting if he did not make mistakes. Defending himself, he explained that if one takes people off the table for a momentary lapse then there would be no one making art. Notably, Sanders was married to Stewart's "Snow White" co-star Liberty Ross at the time he was caught in the scandal and also shared two children with her.

Though he had said at that time that he was utterly distraught about what he had done to his family, he did not speak out at length. So, this confession from Rupert Sanders comes across as a surprise but it has to be admitted that the dust has settled around the matter. Kristen Stewart has moved on in her life and is no longer with Robert Pattinson, her "Twilight" co-star who she cheated on.

Since then, the "Personal Shopper" actress has not just admitted to being a gay but also dated Soko, St. Vincent and her assistant Alicia Cargile. As of now, Kristen Stewart is said to be dating model Stella Maxwell and it remains to be seen if she also has something to say to this admission of Rupert Sanders.
