The new episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Finale pulled many surprises on its run Sunday. The episode "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life" has Hathaway crying hearing the final mix of the black rights song "Someday We'll All Be Free" while Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) listens to it as he goes on rampage to kill many Alexandrians. But Sasha prevented him, ending only in one kill.

The new episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Finale shows also another betrayal when the Saviors' cavalry reaches at the Alexandia's gates and Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is confused where Negan is, and just when the dynamite does not blow up, Jadis (Pollyanna MacIntosh), puts a gun to Rick while Scavengers rage on. Rick tries to negotiate but Jadis shoots him on his hip, afterwhich she brings him to Negan and his gang of Saviors.

Certainly, the new episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Finale has more twists and surprises amidst war and killings. "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life" was written by Scott M. Gimple, Angela Kang, and Matthew Negrete and directed by EP Greg Nicotero. One critical review said that Sasha's death has more weight than the earlier deaths of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz). The show on Sunday was the 99th episode. It has almost a cliffhanger finale with its suspense and tensescenes. It is another fit to the usual characteristics drawn in the last two season finales of the blockbuster AMC series based on Robert Kirkman's comics.

The ratings of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Finale earlier came to sink in lows though the series continued to be in the top in adults 18-49 age bracket early this year but following the death of Glenn in February the rating slowly picked up. It is safe to say that when its Season 7 Finale's episode "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life" came on Sunday the series took revenge for another cycle of higher ratings.
