News about Carmelo Anthony is slowly picking up again in the headlines of online reports nowadays. After being linked to numerous trade deals before the trade deadline, Anthony admits in a recent report that he was close to being traded to Los Angeles Clippers last February.

Carmelo Anthony, who've been the hot topic of rumors mills the past few months, is once again in the spotlight of controversies lately. Prior to his involvement with trade rumors, he'd been very vocal about his disappointment with the New York Knicks lackluster performance on the start of the regular season after acquiring superstar Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah from the Chicago Bulls.

Carmelo Anthony frustration led to an argument with Knicks president Phil Jackson which appears to be the reason that he was put on the trading block by the team. Being one high notable player, it is not hard to find a suitor for him as he was already being targeted by teams like Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers. And as history goes, none of those teams weren't able to strike a deal to get him from the Knicks.

But in a recent interview with Carmelo Anthony, he revealed that he almost played to another team this season. According to FOXSports, Melo was asked by media if he is open to the possibility of joining the Los Angeles Clippers and play alongside his best friend Chris Paul someday. He disclosed that "there was an opportunity" for him to be traded to the Clippers during the trade deadline but it never happened.

Carmelo Anthony first thought that it was the Los Angeles Lakers making a move of acquiring him and later learned that it was the Los Angeles Clippers making the final push of getting his services. But for now, he is not thinking it already and ready to focus on making the Knicks a better team moving forward.

Will there still be a possibility that Carmelo Anthony plays with the Los Angeles Clippers next season?
