Actress Meghan Markle is biracial and proud of it. Prince Harry's girlfriend recently revealed how much she hated when magazines insist on lightening her skin color via photoshop.

According to Mail Online, Meghan Markle has always been outspoken about racism. Taking examples from her own experience, the "Suits" actress has previously stated how she has been racially discriminated many times throughout her life and acting career.

Meghan Markle has now admitted that her 'pet peeve' is having her skin tone lightened and her freckles removed from her photos. She added that while she was a child, her father has once told her, 'a face without freckles is a night without stars'.

The 35-year old was born to an African-American mother and Caucasian father. While talking with Allure, Meghan Markle mentioned how hard it was to find jobs in the acting industry when one is biracial.

"Was I Latina? Sephardic? 'Exotic Caucasian?" Allure quoted Meghan Markle. "Add the freckles to the mix and it created quite the conundrum."

Meghan Markle then encouraged people with freckles to embrace the beauty of it. She asked them to follow the advice of her father on freckles just like she did.

Growing up, Meghan Markle stated that she was not exposed to colorism. Her family has always been a great support and brought positivity in her life.

However, when she got older and started studying at Northwestern it was a different story. She admitted that people often found her 'too light in the black community and too mixed in the white community.' Many tried hard to label her.

The "Suits" actress also revealed how her fans of the TV series turned from loving her to hating her. Meghan Markle added that she came across a few negative tweet reactions when the viewers saw her character Rachel Zane's father is black.
