Queen Elizabeth is reportedly pointed as the reason why Prince Harry has not proposed yet to his girlfriend Meghan Markle. Reports were claiming that one of the reasons why the Queen has sidelined Prince Harry's plan to propose to Markle is because of her scandalous past.

According to the latest report, Queen Elizabeth has yet to decide on whether Harry shall propose to Markle considering that Meghan is a divorcee. It can be recalled that Meghan divorced her husband Trevor Engelson last 2013 after news broke out that the actress was having an affair with ice hockey star Michael Del Zotto.

Those things about the actress are enough for the Queen to give her a side eye. There were reports before that members of the royal family are not allowed to marry divorcees in the past. As reported on Vogue, it is important for members of the royal family to get the Queen's permission for cases like this.

It can be remembered how distressed Princess Margaret was when she fell in love with Captain Peter Townsend. Queen Elizabeth told her sister that she could not marry Townsend considering the Church's teaching that marriage should be indissoluble.

But the Queen had a change of heart when her son, Prince Charles married the love of his life, Camilla Parker-Bowles in 2005. Camilla was also a divorcee just like Charles. Camilla was also regarded as the other woman in the marriage of Charles and Princess Diana back then.

The case of Meghan Markle is a different story considering that she is a Hollywood actress and a Roman Catholic. Though the new rule would suggest that members of the royal family are no longer forbidden from marrying Catholics, Queen Elizabeth is still worried about the past of the actress.

Perhaps Meghan Markle is willing to prove to Queen Elizabeth that she is very much interested to commit herself full-time as member of the royal family. Once Prince Harry proposes to her, Meghan is expected to leave her Hollywood lifestyle for her royal duty.
