Netflix has renewed "Longmire" for Season 6, which will also be the finale season. The cast and crew are expected to start filming for "Longmire" Season 6 from this month. It, however, remains to be seen whether the fan's anticipations and wish of seeing Vic (played by Katee Sackhoff) and Walt (played by Robert Taylor) together as a couple turns true.

After numerous reports about "Longmire" cancellation, Netflix has finally come up with good news for the fans as "Longmire" has been renewed for Season 6, What's On Netflix reported. However, it has also been announced that "Longmire" Season 6 will be the finale season of the show, much to the dismay of the fans.

It must be mentioned here that the latest developments in the plot, the shocking twists and the overall change in the storyline have gathered the attention of the viewers and they are rooting for "Longmire" Season 6. Moreover, they are eager to see Vic and Walt getting involved romantically.  Though Vic has showcased her strong feelings for Walt, he shrugged her off. But his split with Donna (Ally Walker) in "Longmire" Season 5 has once again fueled the hopes of fans that Vic and Walt will become lovers.

Notably, actress Katee Sackhoff tweeted on her Twitter account about "Longmire" Season 6 in January this year. She had mentioned that filming would start in March 2017 and now comes the announcement from Netflix about the show's renewal.

In related news, it was also rumored that Katee Sackhoff might not be back to reprise her role as Vic due to an overseas project that she is currently working on. But, the reports have been debunked as the actress tweeted, confirming her return to "Longmire" Season 6, CarterMatt reported.

In her latest tweet, the "Longmire" Season 6 actress, Katee Sackhoff also revealed that the filming would begin on March 22 and will be wrapped up by summer so that "Longmire" Season 6 is back on Netflix from fall.
