Angelina Jolie seems to be moving on after her divorce from Brad Pitt as the actress came forth before the shutterbugs for the first time in Cambodia. She attended an event with relation to the promotion of her movie "First They Killed My Father" and also shed light on the film.

Angelina Jolie attended a press event with her six children in Cambodia, marking it as the first public appearance after her nasty split from Brad Pitt. According to Huffington Post, she stepped out on Saturday at a press event in Siem Reap that was held ahead of the premiere of her movie "First They Killed My Father." She and her children also met the Cambodian king, Norodom Sihamoni.

Jolie also talked in detail about the movie, revealing that it is a passion project for her. She said that Cambodia holds a special place in her heart as her eldest son Maddox was born over there and he along with his brother Pax has helped her on the film. The actress also stated that "First They Killed My Father" was not made to focus on the horrors of the past, but to laud the resilience, talent and kindness of the Cambodian People, People Magazine claimed.

Jolie was full of praise and gratitude for Cambodia at the event and also said that "First They Killed My Father" is her way of saying thank you to the country. According to her, she might not have become a mother without Cambodia and part of her heart is and will always be in the country. Referring to Maddox, she said that part of the country is always with her.

Notably, "First They Killed My Father" is a memoir by Loung Ung, a Cambodian human-rights activist. It is an account of the devastation and havoc wreaked by the communist leader Khmer Rouge during his regime in the 1970s. The film of Angelia Jolie is based on this very memoir.
