Consumers are now on the lookout for OnePlus' fourth generation "Flagship Killer," the OnePlus 5.

Ever since the Chinese handset manufacturer, OnePlus, launched their self-proclaimed "Flagship Killer," the OnePlus One, the company has become a well-known brand across the globe. The company's ultimate aim is of course  to provide a device with all the bells and whistles of the latest flagship smartphones but to offer it to consumers at the fraction of the price.

Reports have revealed that the company may skip the number "4" altogether in labeling their next product, mainly due to the belief that the number represents bad luck. The Chinese superstition is very prominent within the country as even high-rise buildings omit floors containing that particular number.

The superstition can be traced back to the Chinese pronunciation of the number, which actually sounds very close to the word "Death." Because of this, companies and manufacturers in the country strictly avoid it in all their products and dealings. Apart from China, other countries in Asia also believe in the superstition, which is why Samsung occasionally skips it in labeling their model numbers.

The labeling of course is of very little consequence when it comes to the demand for OnePlus' products, and despite the strange designation for the new "Flagship Killer," consumers are still very much waiting in anticipation for its release.

Rumor reports have claimed that the new OnePlus 5 may be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor that will be paired with a huge 6GB of RAM. The device is also expected to sport a possible ceramic build, either in its entirety of perhaps on just its rear panel.

The device is expected to be released sometime in the summer of 2017 similar to its previous launches. The new OnePlus 5 is expected to be priced somewhere around $400, which is quite a bargain given the device's possible high-end features and specs.
