The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 7 will air on December 9 and fans are getting chills after seeing the trailer.

According to Video Games Republic, while previous episode saw Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) being shot and killed by Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis), it seems like he is not dead.

The teaser showed that Stefan Salvatore will be killed by his own brother during Christmas dinner. If Stefan dies, Caroline is bound to hate Damon and this much hate can turn her into someone else who disregards her human side.

In a recent interview with TVLine, Candice King, who plays Caroline, said that "Basically, you're going to get a lot of answers to questions you've had for a while."

"And we, of course, pose more questions. You'll learn a lot about Matt's dad, and the history of [the Donovan] family in Mystic Falls. You'll also see Damon and Stefan, and what happens next for them," she added.

Fans have theorized that Matt's mom could be a succubus, making Matt an incubus.

As per University Herald, rumor has it that Caroline's old flame Klaus from "The Originals" could be making an appearance in the next episode and change the whole romance story between Stefan and Caroline.

According to TV Guide, Paul Wesley who portrays Stefan Salvatore stated his idea of how the series should end. He thinks that Stefan should take off his daylight ring and die with Damon. Paul believes it to be the perfect ending.

Ian Somerhalder who plays Damon Salvatore answered the same question of series finale. He said that the brothers should just go to the Caribbean and sit on a beach all night drinking Caribbean wine. And in the morning, they should give each other a hug, take off their rings and throw them in the ocean and that's how it should end.

Looks like the Salvatore brothers are preparing the viewers for a rather tragic end.

Candice has also revealed that there will be a time jump when they return from their mid season finale in January.
