HTC announces the roll-out of Android 7.0 Nougat update for the unlocked models of HTC One M9. Google, the tech giant announced the Android 7.0 nougat update in August.

Now, the tech market is witnessing the release of the update in most of the smartphones of different companies. HTC has already announced the Nougat update release for the unlocked models of HTC 10 earlier.

According to International business Times, HTC has confirmed the release of Android 7.0 Nougat update announcement for HTC One M9 on twitter. The update release will be in the unlocked models of HTC One M9 in the United States and to the carrier variants in early 2017. The schedule for the release will commence on December 6 via OTA (Over-The-Air).

It is reported that the unlocked HTC One M9 is currently running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the new update will bring amazing features and improvements. Few of the features that will arrive are the improved Doze Mode that extends the battery life of the device, bundled notification, improved security and a multi-window feature. Also, many features will be available in the phone, once the Android 7.0 Nougat update is installed.

Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update can be checked manually going to Settings >> About Phone >> System Updates >> check for the new firmware.

HTC also noted that in the announcement seen on the twitter that carrier models likely won't see the newest version of Android 7.0 Nougat until "early next year." Still, a year old flagship already getting Nougat on some level is a good sign of things to come.

The next flagship of HTC is the One A9 and currently as per the announcement, One A9 is expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat later after the release for carrier models of HTC One M9.
