Apple just recently unveiled their flagship phone for the year, iPhone 7. However, if reports are any indication, the company is already onto its next innovation. iPad 2017 is rumored to incorporate a completely new design and may even ditch the home button.

The upcoming tablet may also feature bigger screen than iPad Pro 9.7, along with a 10.5-inch panel. According to an inside industry source, Apple will remove the Home button and may replace it with either a virtual one or some gestures, Business Insider reported.

Meanwhile, in another report, the publication indicated that the next iPhone is also expected to get rid of their home button, which aligns perfectly with the rumors regarding new iPad.

It is not known, however, how the company plans to apply home button features such as Apple Pay or toggling between apps without the physical button. At this point, the Apple enthusiasts should take this news with a grain of salt as it is purely based on speculation.

As far as the design is concerned, the new iPad may sport a bezel-less appearance. The new borderless design will feature more screen space and the only biggest bezel on the iPad is expected to be where the FaceTime camera is placed on the device.

Reports also claim that the latest offering in the iPad lineup will replace the existing iPad Mini 4. All the new variants of iPad are expected to be released in March 2017.

Rumor also has it that the production of 10.5-inch iPad will begin in December, just in time for its March release, reports Apple Insider. At the same time, speculation also indicates that Apple will release a compact 9.7-inch iPad, to compete with other Android tablets in the market.
