Outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is one of the most sought after free agent this offseason. Many teams have already expressed interest in acquiring him like the New York Yankees, Washington Nationals, San Francisco Giants and Houston Astros. But latest MLB trade rumors are spreading that he could be heading to the Los Angeles Dodger this winter.

Cespedes, who also one of the youngest and hottest batters on the free agent market today, opts out with his contract to the New York Mets last November 5, making him available in the MLB trade market. He was also a free agent last year but was able to re-signed by the Mets last January for 3-years, $75 million with an opt-out clause after the first season, which he exercise lately.

And now, reports are saying that he is on the wish list of the Dodgers to acquire this offseason. According to Dodger Blue, the Los Angeles Dodgers have already contacted Yoenis Cespedes and discussion are seems to be ongoing right now. And if the Dodgers will be successful to sign Cespedes, they will lose their top unprotected pick in 2017 Draft.

Cespedes who have averages of .280 hit, 31 home runs, and 86 RBI in the 2016 MLB season will be a welcome addition to the Dodgers roster if ever. His 25 doubles, a 133 OPS+ and 9.4 percent walk rate in 132 games have won him the Silver Slugger Award. The 31-year old Cuban slugger is said to be seeking for a four- or five-year contract at around $100 million salary.

Earlier reports by TGD already suggested a Yoenis Cespedes-Yasiel Puig trade scenario. Speculation is saying that Cespedes could be signing a five-year, $125 million contract with the Dodgers. And since he is a free agent, it can be a great deal.

Dodgers might use Cespedes as a left fielder. But the Dodgers must act quickly as the Astros and Giants are also moving to acquire the 31-year old Cuban native.
