New York Yankees' Derek Jeter plans to address the media on Thursday during a press conference at Yankee Stadium.

Jeter learned last week that he has another fracture in his surgically repaired ankle and will not play in a Major League Baseball game before the All-Star break, according to MLB.com.

He hasn't spoken to the media since his diagnosis.

The 38-year-old shortstop visited Dr. Robert Anderson earlier this week. Dr. Anderson performed the initial surgery after Jeter fractured his ankle on October 13, 2012.  The injury occurred against the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series when Jeter reached for a groundball.

Yankees' manager Joe Girardi believes Jeter has been fitted for a walking boot.

Jeter has been a staple of the Yankees franchise since debuting in 1995. He's a 13-time All-Star and won five World Series championships with the Yankees. The loss of the Yankees Captain deals a blow to the team.
