Many complaints hit the internet on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus hardware malfunction, which was termed as "Touch Disease" by DIY repair and teardown website iFixit.

iFixit studied the issues that were reported on the smartphone and explained that it was due to a faulty controller chip soldered to the logic board.

Many Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users filled-up the Apple support forum with enormous complaints on the touch disease.

"Touch disease" is nothing but a display issue where a grey flickering band can sporadically be seen on top, accompanied by touch responsiveness issues. The grey band expands and completely acquires the screen making the smartphone display a waste piece.

According to The Verge, Apple has responded to the complaints that hit up the Apple support forum and stated that the fault was caused by mistakes done by the users i.e. dropping of phone on a hard surface repeatedly.

Apple refused the design fault and threw the ball back to the affected users.

Apple declined to cover the cost of repair and asked affected phone users to get it fixed by paying $149.

The Cupertino tech giant stated on its website:

"Apple has determined that some iPhone 6 Plus devices may exhibit display flickering or Multi-Touch issues after being dropped multiple times on a hard surface and then incurring further stress on the device. If your iPhone 6 Plus is exhibiting the symptoms noted above, is in working order, and the screen is not cracked or broken, Apple will repair your device for a service price of $149."

According to Gadgets NDTV, Apple iPhone 6 Plus users can get the so called 'Touch Disease' fixed at any nearest Apple customer care centers. Apple pointed out that the repair program is only for iPhone 6 Plus and not for iPhone 6 users.

It was also reported that iPhone 6 Plus users, who already got the issue fixed earlier by paying double amount, can avail the money-back as Apple is set to reimburse the amount.

Gadgets NDTV reported that the users requesting reimbursements can go to the nearest Apple customer service centers.
