The team of "Criminal Minds" has decided not to bring back Thomas Gibson, even after the never-ending boycott campaigns for the series' protagonist.

The American crime procedural drama "Criminal Minds" Season 12 suffered a major blow in terms of ratings when Thomas Gibson was permanently removed from the show. His withdrawal was not an option, as he got into a physical altercation with series writer Virgil Williams, which eventually led him to put an end to Aaron Hotch's role.

According to Thomas Gibson, he ended up kicking the writer when he came at him. The overall situation is a complex one. And according to Williams, Gibson kicked him without any preemptive action. It is said that Gibson later on apologized, however, Williams wasn't too keen about it.

This is the third time Gibson had been physical. The producers of the show have had enough. And despite fans being adamant for his return to "Criminal Minds" Season 12, it is predicted as impossible.

According to ITechPost, Williams is not looking forward to work with Thomas Gibson again. The crew is fancying for the series to end rather than welcoming Gibson back on the show.

Thomas Gibson's last appearance on "Criminal Minds" Season 12 was only for the first two episodes. Later on, he was seen going away for a special assignment.

Many viewers and fans boycotted the show with #NoHotchNoWatch and #StillMissingHotch campaign.

The ratings have dropped a great deal as many have stopped watching "Criminal Minds" Season 12 as previously, another indispensable protagonist took off. Shemar Moore's departure was a bitter pill to swallow and a much more difficult situation for most of the fans.

Although Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez is doing a commendable job, many fans are not looking as an exceptional replacement for the protagonists.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 continues to air on CBS. There are three more episodes left in the first half of the season. The show took a brief hiatus for two weeks when MLB World Series broadcasted, but it will return with a bang.

With surprises up its sleeves, many are eager to learn how Hotch will make a permanent exit from "Criminal Minds" Season 12.
