Fans will get to see Paul Walker in the upcoming "Fast and Furious 7" but may not see him in other upcoming movie projects he was working on. According to Variety, "Homeland" actor Rupert Friend has been offered Walker's role in the film "Agent 47."

Plot details are being kept under wraps but the movie is said to be a sequel to the 2007 film "Hitman." Reportedly the movie was almost scrapped following Walker's tragic death because his "commitment was a major part of the film getting a greenlight," Variety reports.

Because "Hitman" was a success producers are confident the sequel can still do well without the actor's presence. Production for the film is said to begin in February.

Deadline reports that Walker was also working on a Nicholas Sparks movie called "The Best of Me." James Marsden, star of "X-Men," is said to be in talks for the role. The movie is based off of Sparks' book about high school sweethearts who reunite after almost 20 years apart. The two return to their small hometown for a friend's funeral.

Producers of the film "Fast and Furious 7" made the announcement that they will keep Walker's character, Brian O'Connor in the upcoming film. Instead of killing off the character they decided to "retire" him.

"The plan is to 'retire' the character in a way that the studio hopes will satisfy fans of the franchise and make use of the existing footage of Walker," a source told The Hollywood Reporter.

Following Walker's Nov. 30 death, director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal's lead executive Jeffrey Kirschenbaum poured over the footage they already had with Walker.

"The trio devised a plan to tweak the existing script so that Walker would remain a part of the story but could be written out, allowing the franchise to continue without him," THR writes.
