In his first ever televised interview since winning the US Presidential Elections, Donald Trump directly called on his supporters to cease tormenting all minorities.

When informed by Lesley Stahl on the CBS segment '60 Minutes' about the predicament Muslims and Hispanics are currently facing, the President-elect said he is saddened to hear about the harassments.

After Trump won the presidency over Hillary Clinton, demonstrators have come out to protest against the results of the recent US polls. Judging from the real estate mogul's racial stance during his campaign, many democrats have been troubled about the direction the country will be heading. Considering that racist messages and slogans are almost everywhere, there is a strong reason to be concerned.

Trump said that he'd observed demeaning statements against minorities in white schools after the elections. Even though he has admitted that some incidents of bigotry have surfaced, he announces that he remains unaware about most of what is actually going on.

In line with this, several protesters have lobbied for Trump on Twitter to eschew the incidents.

The new top guy in Washington feels that these besmirching declarations are grave. Stopping it is part of his goal to unite the nation.

According to Richard Cohen, President of the Southern Poverty Law Center, around 300 such incidents have already been reported.

In addition, Trump finds the protests against him horrifying. He thinks that the incident may have been manipulated by the press. It is possible that small situations have been blown out of proportion to simply make it look big.

According to the billionaire businessman, the wave of criticisms signifies that people don't really know him. Aside from giving him time, Trump has called on all protesters not be fearful because all Americans will come together.

It is apparent that the new US President has been saddened by the double standard being reflected by the demonstrations. He thinks that the atmosphere would have been different if Hillary Clinton won the polls.

Protests continue for the fifth straight day as more anti-Trump activists surfaced on the streets from Manhattan to San Francisco. A 3.4-mile human chain has been observed in Oakland's Lake Merritt.
