The Department of Child and Family Services has cleared Brad Pitt from the child abuse charges filed by his estranged wife Angelina Jolie. According to reports, there was no inappropriate physical contact at the time and accusations of abuse were untrue and exaggerated.

The issue stemmed after a supposed incident between the Fight Club actor and his 15-year-old son, Maddox, while they were flying back to the U.S. from a family vacation in Europe.

Social workers in LA, who had been examining claims  that Pitt hit Maddox, concluded that nothing inappropriate had happened and it was just a child-parent disagreement.

In September, both parents agreed to a DCFS safety plan - a temporary custody agreement over their six children that is standard procedure in any ongoing child welfare investigation. Both Brad and Angelina Jolie and Pitt agreed to participate in individual counseling, and Pitt also volunteered to undergo alcohol and drug testing even though he was not required to.

Although the safety plan was set to expire on Oct. 20 and was extended last month as the investigation continued, both actors have also come to their own custody plan. On Monday, a rep for Jolie told that Jolie and Pitt's children Maddox (15), Pax (12), Zahara (11), Shiloh (10), and twins Knox and Vivienne (8) will remain in the actress' custody.

According to the Jolie rep statement, "Childcare professionals have encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides over a week ago. In accordance with this agreement, the six children will stay in their mother's custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father. This has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children's best interest."

Angelina Jolie hopes her children can start to "heal" after the Department of Child and Family Services cleared Brad Pitt of child abuse allegations.

In a statement, Jolie's rep said the actress was "relieved" that the investigation had come to an end, and that her focus has always been the health of her children.

Let's hope that Brangelina divorce saga will finally come to an end and that they will continue to entertain us...but only from the big screens.
