Gordon Hayward's 28 lifted Utah Jazz over the New York Knicks, 114-109

Gordon Hayward returned this season with a bang as he had a stellar season debut as he carried the Utah Jazz to a victory over the struggling New York Knicks, 114-109.

Last October 7, Hayward suffered a fracture of the fourth finger in his left hand and misses the first 6 games of the season. The Utah Jazz placed decently without their star player.  But Jazz is a completely different team with Hayward on the line-up.

He made his season debut against the Knicks and recorded a very impressive 28 points on 6-17 shooting from the floor and a perfect 14-14 from the free-throw line in 36 minutes of action.

All of the Jazz starters reached double figures in scoring lead by George Hill with 23 points. He also had 2 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals. Rudy Gobert also had a monster game with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 3 block shots.

The Big Three of the Knicks had great game but just lack contributions to other teammates. Carmelo Anthony led the way with 28 points on 12-20 shooting from the floor. He also grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. Kristaps Porzingis continued his marvelous season contributing 28 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Derrick Rose chipped in with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists, per ESPN.

With a win, the Utah Jazz topped the .500 mark with a 4-3 win-loss record. Meanwhile, the New York Knicks stumbled at 2-4.

Los Angeles Lakers stay hot as they cruised to an easy win over the Phoenix Suns, 119-108

 Los Angeles Lakers continue burning wins as they torched the struggling Phoenix Suns, 119-108.

After a surprise victory against the NBA superteam Golden State Warriors, Lakers keep on showing that they are a much better team this season with Luke Walton as their head coach. They won 3 consecutive games now. Thanks to a collective contribution from their key players.

Nick Young piloted the Lakers' offense as he scored 22 points on 8-14 shooting from the field and 3-7 from threes. Julius Randle supported Young's production with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Timofey Mozgov, had a tremendous game with 14 points, 8 rebound and 2 assists. Jordan Clarkson and Louis Williams came off the bench to score 18 points and 14 points respectively.

Devin Booker got hot but wasn't enough to beat the streaking Lakers. Booker had a career-high 39 points on 13-29 shooting from the floor and 10-10 from the free-throw line. TJ Warren contributed with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, per ESPN.  

With a win, the Los Angeles Lakers stayed perfect at home at 3-0 and had a 4-3 record overall. The Phoenix Suns, on the other hand, swirled down to 2-5.
