After a number of objects looking like a shoe, a cup, a crab and a snake, the latest one is that of an interesting fossil-like creature that looks like a bear, according to ufologists.

Said popular alien seeker Scott C. Waring in ufosightingsdaily, the remains that have been spotted look most like a grizzly bear's, which makes the picture look "unusual and interesting."

"Even without processing the image, you can clearly see that it looks artificial. Resembles a bear or sloth-like creature to me, possibly with a shell, but to be honest, it could be anything," he stated in a Daily Star interview.

That dark object appears to show a coat of fur, with less hair on that part of the body that should be its face. However, a number of sceptics have dismissed it as just a weird-shaped rock.

Ufologists seem to be interested in the "bear" because the Martian atmosphere helps exposed bodies to remain mummified. With such a cold and arid climate as well as the lack of organisms enabling decomposition, the bear corpse was mummified.

Critics are clear that the angle of lighting and the illumination due to the probe would explain the "optical illusion" of the bear-like object.

It is quite possible that the object was just a pareidolia, or a "cognitive bias wherein the mind perceives a stimulus, (visual, acoustic, etc.) as a familiar pattern, because our cognitive wiring makes us susceptible to identifying familiar elements even where it isn't the case," according to techtimes.

"It is more likely the unusual shape is a rock or some kind of statue. Even without processing the image you can clearly see that it looks artificial," stated YouTuber Paranormal Crucible about the bear theory.
