Nina Dobrev won't be returning in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 as she moves into big screen acting and guest starring in a sitcom. Aside from that, The CW has finally released the official plot summary and preview clip of episode 4 "An Eternity of Misery", while episode 3 is recapped here for those who missed it.

Nina Dobrev will officially be no longer a part of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. According to Parent Herald, the former lead actress has a hectic schedule lately as she is set to guest star in "Workaholics".

The 27-year old Bulgarian-Canadian actress will also be a part of "xXx: Return of Xander Cage".

As for the official plot synopsis of episode 4, Comic Book Movie notes:

"A supernatural origin story. Tasked with finding a mysterious artifact, Damon Salvatore's (Ian Somerhalder) latest mission takes him to Texas where a violent run-in with Peter Maxwell (guest star Joel Gretsch) leads to a surprising revelation.

Meanwhile, after gaining the upper hand in their fight to save Damon and Enzo St. John (Michael Malarkey), Stefan Salvatore(Paul Wesley) and Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) team up and uncover the origins of the mysterious force they're up against. Finally, Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) returns to the fray after his past and present collide in an unexpected way."

For a quick recap of episode 3 titled "You Decided that I was Worth Saving", Entertainment Weekly reported that Enzo continued to fight the control within him.

On the other hand, Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) was stuck in a deadly game and forced to make a difficult decision which involves two significant persons in her life.

Meanwhile at The Armory, Alaric researched for an artifact in hopes of getting Damon and Enzo back. Elsewhere, Damon found Tyler Lockwood (guest star Michael Trevino) who attempted to talk to him.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 episode 4 is titled as "An Eternity of Misery". The upcoming episode is scheduled to premiere on Friday, November 11, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. ET first and exclusive on The CW.
