Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorce has taken a new turn as the divorce filing from Pitt on Friday, requests the judge to grant him a joint custody of his and Jolie's six children.

Brad Pitt is seeking a joint physical custody of his children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10 and twins, Knox and Vivienne, 8, reports NBC Chicago. This comes at a time when Pax and Shiloh had expressed their desire to be with their dad and not with mother, Jolie. Though it is not known whether Jolie would allow their kids to go to their father, but, Pitt has made his move by filing for a joint custody.

Notably, while filing for a divorce, Jolie has specifically wanted the sole physical custody of their children with only visiting rights for Pitt. Well, this gives a clear indication that a bitter custody battle is coming up, which will not be an easy ride for both Pitt and Jolie.

Now, it remains to be seen what the judge's response will be and whether he would consider Pitt's request for a joint custody of the children, reports E! Online. More so as investigation regarding his altercation with son, Maddox while they were on a private jet and the alleged child abuse case that Jolie indicated, is still in process.

Sources close to the ex-couple which includes people who worked with them revealed that Pitt is a loving father was neither abusive nor aggressive towards the kids. Moreover, the crew of the private jet also stated that it is true that there was a heated argument between the father and son, but Pitt did not harm Maddox in any way.

In addition, previous reports state that it was Jolie who was the more aggressive and abusive as noted by witnesses. She had even threatened Pitt on earlier occasions. This revelation has, in turn, extended the investigation led by the Department of Child and Family Services to include Jolie as well.
