Sony earlier announced last September that they will release an Android 7.0 Nougat update for Sony Xperia X this November and it looks like they are keeping their promise. Many people have waited for many months and their craving for the update will be finally over.

According to GSMArena, Sony let the people know last Tuesday that they are releasing the Android 7.0 Nougat Beta Version for Sony Xperia X Performance by giving a glimpse of its build and hints that they will be rolling out in a couple of hours. And true enough, the following day some of the X Performance gadgets received the first beta version of Nougat.

The report further noted that the beta program is only available to the single-SIM variation of the Xperia X Performance with model number F8131. Its Nougat firmware is a 39.2.A.0.248 version with an October 1 security patches. Sony also includes a new selection of its camera app and its earlier problem with touch sensitivity was already patched up with the new version.

Tech Times wrote that Sony clarified that it is not their intention to imitate other big companies like Samsung and Apple but their goal to is to give a "near-stock Android experience" to its customers. Since the update is still a test run, they advise customers not to expect extreme from the Nougat version as they try to make it more stable and improve some custom feature of it.

The Xperia X Performance is part of Sony's line of smartphones that was rolled out last June that aims to give people a better choice to the tech market. The Xperia X Performance is built with 5-inch Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 Triluminos display that is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with 3 GB of RAM with a 23MP rear shooter and 13MP front shooter.
