Attributes of upcoming smartphones just get better and better. 2017 can be the year when new facets of flagship devices will come to fruition.

For a while, Apple has planned to introduce a unit that will feature an edgeless surface. Xiaomi has joined the bandwagon and is likely to be the first company to highlight the component through the imminent launching of its Mi Mix.

In a new development, Samsung has been projected to unveil its own 90 percent screen-to-body ratio device. The infinite display outlook will be incorporated into the Galaxy S8 unit. With this new design, the South Korean tech manufacturer will be able to integrate a fingerprint sensor under the screen. Within this framework, it is likely that the home button will be eliminated.

Park Won-sang, a principal engineer at Samsung Display, has shared this new report even there is no confirmation that the feature will be used for the S8. However, since the company is looking at enhancing the next product's design, it is likely that the characteristic will be applied on a new Galaxy series item.

At this point, the excitement is focused on the Xiaomi's new flagship. The troubling part, however, can be found on the unit's body which is thicker than previously anticipated. This means that Samsung gets the chance to mount a project that is far better and astounding.

It is perceived that within the 90 percent screen-to-body outline, the S8 will present an OLED surface. It will also mean that a larger screen is in the making.

The fact is, Samsung is keen in keeping its smartphones large with full-face displays. The approach has already been done for a Galaxy S7 Edge version. Within this context, it is likely that a 90 percent ratio will be manifested. At present, the average screen-to-body scale is 80 percent.

With the Mi Mix, Xiaomi is divulging a design that can be found in the future devices of Apple and Samsung. Noteworthy among the prospective features is the full-face 1080p LCD surface.
