Kim Cattrall is known for her role of the sexy and confident Samantha Jones in extremely popular TV show "Sex and The City."

However, the series came at a high price for Kim as she claimed that the project was responsible for the breakdown of her marriage to the 69-year-old audio engineer Mark Levinson.

"I was never there and my husband got lonely and upset and competitive, and it was really difficult, it was really hard," she said.

Kim was married to Mark for six years (1998 - 2004). The two of them even published a book about sex, titled "Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm" in 2002.

If the 60-year-old actress is asked, her character Samantha also hampered her love life after the divorce as men had to have difficulty separating real life from her role.

She thinks that it was a great compliment as an actress but not on real life.

"It can sometimes get in the way, especially if you're dating," Kim said, noting that men can fear her by assuming she's like Samantha.

Despite the fact that the work schedule drove her crazy at times, Kim is so proud of her character and the series for speaking to audiences like it hadn't been done before.

Kim Cattrall thinks that a show like "Sex and The City" should have existed way before it did. She thinks there's an audience that is always waiting to hear and feel the woman side of the story.

She had always loved the character of Samantha because she is the woman who has been there and done that.

"She was a little bit older and a little more experienced if you know what I mean," Kim laughed while talking to Today's reporter.

"Sex and The City" was broadcasted from 1998 to 2004. Its first movie spin-off was released in 2008. While the man-eating, smoking hot New Yorker character surely cost Kim Cattrall her marriage, it also gave her the glory of an actress.
