It's time for the honored MacBook Pro line-up to get some refreshment and this simple name "Hello again" from Apple apparently means we won't have to wait long.

Apple is inviting the media to come to the Apple Campus in Cupertino and join Tim Cook and his team on Thursday, October 27th. The invitation doesn't reveal specific details on what the event will entail.

However, expect that a new line-up of 2016 MacBook Pro devices will be announced. And there is a pretty strong chance that the MacBook and MacBook Air lineups will also get some fresh blood.

Recent MacBook Pro releases have seen a relatively long lead time between the official reveal and pre-orders being taken in various territories. However, customers in the US and the main EU territories will receive the first units in time for Christmas 2016.

The previous Macbook line0up had not received a large amount of love from Apple in past few years. Except for the ultra thin 2016 MacBook Pro that was released last year. The MacBook Pro range's last update was a token specs bump during 2016. Unlike the iPhone and iPad lines, Apple still continues to sell a MacBook Pro model that was released over four years ago.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to reveal the 2016 MacBook Pro that continues the ethos of giving up ports and old solutions like removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The world's largest information technology company push for minimalism and bring forward new connectivity options that will be achieved by removing the older USB ports as well as the Magsafe power cord from the new MacBooks. Its hardware will depend on Thunderbolt and USB-C connections for power and peripherals, just as Apple achieved with MacBook from last year.

The major addition to the design of new 2016 MacBook Pro could be a programmable OLED touchscreen display strip above the keyboard that offers a mix of information and definable function keys.

The 2016 MacBook Pro model is expected to be available in both forms 13-inch and 15-inch. As for the MacBook Air, this model could see an updated 13-inch model as well since there are strong indicators that the 11-inch version of the Macbook Air will be discontinued. Apple fans shouldn't be shocked if the 12-inch will still rule this area and the smallest Air is lacking any original features which may help it stand out.
