He's known for his outspoken and controversial views on the practice of eating meat, but most recently, former The Smiths singer Morrissey took things a little farther by morally equating eating meat with pedophilia and supporting Auschwitz, Salon magazine reports.

The life-time animal rights advocate has never been shy to proclaim that "Meat is Murder," and even cancelled a 2009 Coachella performance due to the smell of barbecue at the music festival.

"If you have access to You Tube, you should click on to what is called The video the meat industry doesn't want you to see," Morrissey told fans in a recent online Q&A session. "If this doesn't affect you in a moral sense then you're probably granite. I see no difference between eating animals and paedophilia. They are both rape, violence, murder. If I'm introduced to anyone who eats beings, I walk away. Imagine, for example, if you were in a nightclub and someone said to you 'Hello, I enjoy bloodshed, throat-slitting and the destruction of life,' well, I doubt if you'd want to exchange phone numbers...If you believe in the abattoir then you would support Auschwitz."

The singer is currently promoting his book, "Autobiography," which he published through Penguin Classics in October 2013. The number-one bestseller received mixed reviews from critics, including some who praised it for its brilliant writing and others who slammed it for its "self-indulgent" nature.
