"American Idol" semifinalist John Park is reported to date member of R&B group Urban Zakapa, Jo Hyun-Ah. Both of their agencies confirmed that their relationship, which was rumored to have been going on for two years now.

Park, whose Korean name is Park Seong-Gyu, has been dating Jo for two years, according to report by DongA. Park's agency Music Farm and Urban Zakapa's agency MakeUs Entertainment responded to the rumor saying the two are good friends and are on dating status.

But according to  allkpop, Park is still single. His relationship with Jo is simply work related and on a friendship level only. In a recent interview, Park said that he doesn't have a girlfriend for now.

Jo is the member of female R&B group Urban Zakapa with her two other band mate Park Yong-In and Kwon Sun-Il. Their journey began when Yong-In met Jo in music academy in 2004, which they enrolled together and decided to form a band. Later on, they met another member Kwon and they decided to form a musical group.

They contacted their friends and formed a nine-member musical group. However, the members found differences in musical preference and the band split to become a trio with only Yong-In, Kwon and Jo, she being the only female member.

Park, who was born and raised in Chicago, made himself famous when he became a semifinalist of "American Idol" Season 9 in 2010. He impressed veteran singer Shania Twain in the audition by singing a love song from Blood, Sweat and Tears titled "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know."

Afterward, Park went to Korea to compete in the "Superstar K2" and won the second place. Park wrote a song for the latest album of Urban Zakapa "Still", as Soompi reported. The song title is "Nearness to Love" and the album was released in May 2016.
