If you're living in Newton Abbot, you could be living next to an alien.

That is what one "paranormal expert" John Mooner says. He believes that Newton Abbot is a UFO hotspot, because of the reports of frequent animal mutilations here.

Last Monday evening, he happened to run into one alien in the park.

It was an eerie creature, with 'classic looking' black eyes and a strange, indefinite shape. However, instead of approaching or 'coming in peace', it just glared at him and floated around.

Mooner says: "I was doing some paranormal investigation looking for anything out of the ordinary and I had just walked around the woods when I saw someone standing there in the park. It was as I got closer that I realised that it was no man. I had the shock of my life it was a grey alien. The grey alien was just standing there blocking the way I was heading. I fumbled around with my pocket camera and quickly took a photograph before the AA batteries fell out of the camera's batteries compartment.

"There was no time to pick up the batteries to take another photograph as the grey alien was now looking right at me. It had the classic looking black eye which freaked me right out. "The grey alien then started floating in my direction. I jump back in fright and quickly turned around and started running like hell back through the woods."

Though he "ran for miles", suddenly he began "coughing up blood." Still, he just about managed to click a photograph.

Earlier, he had written about another alien sighting at Newton Abbey on June 16: "There was a grey alien right outside the window. The grey alien was standing next to a rose bush and had it's back turned toward me. The head of the Alien was totally out of proportion to its body. I could clearly see it's grey skin there was no hair on its head. The alien looked 5 feet tall and was wearing a tightly fitted black lycra looking one piece jumpsuit."

Labelling himself the "chief photographer for world UFO photos," Mooner began to send his images to the Herald Express since June.

At one point, he snapped eight UFOs above Newton Abbot.
