The US Presidential Debate 2016 started awkwardly as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump knowingly chose not to shake hands.

It was a known courtesy, not to mention, tradition in the Presidential Debates to start with both candidates shaking hands.

However, this courtesy and tradition was put aside by both the Democrat and Republican Presidential Candidates. The cold start was definitely a first in the history of the US Presidential Debates.

On the other hand, Bill Clinton and Melania Trump were seen acknowledging and shaking hands.

Everyone already knows that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump do not get along well. But why make this obvious lack-of-respect-for-each-other move in front of millions of American voters?

There might be various reasons for this.

One of which might be because Donald Trump had a press conference hours before the presidential debate.

The topic? The press conference featured Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Wiley and Paula Jones. The three women were indicting Bill Clinton of sexual harassment and assault.

There was also Donald Trump's recent vulgar comments about women, as reported by The Washington Post.

The video featured the Chairman and President of the Trump Organization talking to Access Hollywood's Billy Bush in 2005. Trump was caught in a hot microphone boasting about fondling, kissing and trying to do the deed with women.

"When you are a star, they [women] let you do it", the Republican Presidential candidate was quoted saying.

Donald Trump's very inappropriate remarks backfired as some Republican officials publicly criticized their candidate's actions. Even RNC withdrew their financial support after the scandal was made public.

To which Trump quickly responded, "I said it, I was wrong, and I apologize."

The second round of the US Presidential Debate 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump was held on Sunday night, October 09 at St. Louis.

The face-off was hosted by Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz.
