Series regular Dakin Matthews officially exits "Madam Secretary" Season 3 in the next episode. He will reportedly be replaced by "Spin City" actor Michael Boatman. Aside from that, CBS has officially released the official plot description of the 2nd episode 'The Linchpin'.

Series regular Dakin Matthews officially leaves "Madam Secretary" Season 3. Christian Post has learned that Matthews' character, U.S. Ambassador Roy Curtis will meet his untimely death in the next episode.

Because of that, Secretary Elizabeth will cope up with the changes in negotiation plans and balance her life as a regular mom and a State secretary.

With that being said, "Spin City" alum Michael Boatman will be making a cameo appearance in the 2nd episode of "Madam Secretary" Season 3. According to Parent Herald, the Award-nominated American actor, and writer will play the role of Keith Doherty.

Keith happens to be an FBI Director who will help Jason as he further investigates with the computer breach. 

As for the official plot synopsis of episode 2, Carter Matt notes, "Algeria on the brink of a civil war, U.S. State Secretary Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) delicately negotiates a regime change, but her plans go awry when Roy Curtis (Dakin Matthews), the trusted U.S. Ambassador to Algeria, dies unexpectedly.

Also, Henry fights to save religious antiquities in Algeria when he discovers they are being destroyed by Hizb al-Shahid, and the McCord children get their own security detail after Jason McCord's (Evan Roe) computer is hacked."

As of now, the series is currently taking its 2-week long hiatus. The show is scheduled to resume together with its newest episode on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 9:00 p.m. first and exclusive on CBS Television Network.
