America has witnessed again the passing of a great man. The executive producer of NCIS and creator of NCIS: New Orleans Gary Glasberg died Wednesday at age of 60 in his Los Angeles home.

As per the report of CBS Los Angeles, Glasberg passed away while in his sleep. This came as a shocking devastating news for the NCIS team, which released a statement, stating that "NCIS will not be the same without him, and each of us will miss his smiling face and unwavering humor, which lifted us every day."

CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller further grieved, "Today is an overwhelmingly sad day for NCIS, CBS, and anyone who was blessed to spend time with Gary Glasberg. We have lost a cherished friend, gifted creative voice, respected leader and, most memorably, someone whose warmth and kindness was felt by all around him."

Likewise, a memorial service is being planned for October.

With Glasberg's demise, fans are starting to worry about the future of NCIS: New Orleans, considering the fact that the show's viewership has been relatively low. Morning Ledger speculated that this is because of the departure of Zoe McLellan, who portrayed Agent Meredith Brody, from the show.

The media outlet further speculated the possibility of NCIS: New Orleans going downhill due to McLellan's absence. Although CBS remained tightlipped about the real reason why the actress left the show, rumors have it that McLellan chose to focus on her family, especially to make some time for her son. There are, however, nasty rumors circulating that McLellan was actually underpaid. As such, she decided to leave NCIS: New Orleans when the producers refused to give her a pay raise.

Do you also think NCIS: New Orleans is nearing its doom, considering that it just lost its brilliant creator and that fans are still upset about McLellan's departure?

Meanwhile, here's what viewers should expect in episode 3 of NCIS: New Orleans. CBS revealed that several stars would be guesting in the upcoming episode, including Mario Lopez as NOPD Officer Hernandez, Derek Webster as FBI Agent Raymond Isler, Debbon Ayer as Susan Clarkson, and Demetrius Grosse as Hank Clarkson.

NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 airs Tuesdays on CBS. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
