Monday, September 26, 2016, 9PM EST, the first Presidential debate finally took place after months of preparation, in Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York. An audience of approximately 100 million was expected to follow this debate on their television sets.

It all started with a handshake of the two Presidential candidates and the game was on for Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton and the Republican's Donald Trump.

First off on the debate was about the country's prosperity and how to create more jobs for the American workers.

Sec. Clinton was first to answer and said, "The central question in this election is really what kind of country we want to be and what kind of future we'll build together. We have to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top".

Clinton also called to raise the minimum wage and provide equal pay for women to "make the economy fairer".

Donald Trump replied saying that "jobs have been fleeing the country and going to Mexico and many other countries".

"We have to stop our jobs from being stolen from us, we have to stop our companies from leaving the United States." Trump said.

Then the personal jabs began, with Clinton saying that Trump's business started with a $14 Million. Trump replied that "it was a small loan" from his father.

The second topic "America's Direction" also talks about the racial division in the country.

Clinton talked of Trump's "long history of engaging in racist behavior," Aljazeera News refers to the 1973 lawsuit of Trump's company for not renting apartments to African-Americans and was answered by Trump saying that the lawsuits were settled. However, when he was asked what he would say to the people he offended when he questioned President Obama's birthplace, Trump did not answer directly but instead said that he did a good job of forcing President Obama to produce his birth certificate.

"Securing America" was the third topic of the debate. When talking about the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS) Trump said "we should have taken the oil" saying oil was the primary source of income for the group and it would not have been formed if oil would have been taken from them.

On Monday, a poll from CNN/ORC shows that in Colorado Trump is a point ahead from Clinton with 42%. Pennsylvania shows 45% for Clinton and Trump with 44%. These two states play a vital role in securing the Presidential seat for both candidates. According to CNN's National Poll, Clinton and Trump are neck-and-neck with 44%-42%.

There will be two more debates scheduled on October 9 and October 19.
