As the new NBA season about to unfold months from now, many teams have upgraded their lineup, especially at the point guard position. The New York Knicks got former MVP Derrick Rose from the Chicago in a trade this offseason and the Indiana Pacers got Jeff Teague from the Atlanta Hawks thru trade also.

But one team is doing the opposite. The Minnesota Timberwolves is looking to trade star point guard Ricky Rubio in another team. It has been weeks that Rubio is involved in trade rumors because the Timberwolves is already loaded in the backcourt. But new Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau has something to say about it.

According to Sportsrageous, coach Thibodeau is overwhelmed with Rubio's defense and passing during their practice. He even saw that playing Rubio alongside rookie point guard Kris Dunn, whom they drafted 5th overall, will be promising one because they play well together. The report also says that coach Thibodeau is excited to see the two players play at the same time and what will they bring to the court.

During coach Thibodeau time in Chicago, he usually plays two point guards, Derrick Rose and Kirk Hinrich a lot of times in games for the Bulls. It gains victories for the team and playoff appearances in the East. Having coach Thibodeau announce that Ricky Rubio will stay, recent rumors have it that if Rubio will be traded, it is the Chicago Bulls that is interested in him.

According to YIBADA English, the Bulls is searching for a new playmaker that will occupy the position Derrick Rose vacated this offseason. It also says in the report that the Bulls and Timberwolves already discuss this summer possible trade on both sides but it did not involve Rubio.

The Timberwolves tried to acquire Jimmy Butler from the Bulls in exchange for their fifth pick (which the Timberwolves use to get Dunn) but it never succeeded.

If the Rubio-Dunn connection will not do well in coach Thibodeau system then the Timberwolves should consider the trade in NBA. But knowing coach Thibodeau, he will do great to make the combination works like he did in Chicago.
