Asteroid and meteor attacks are not common events and mostly comprise the stories science fictions are made of. However, one must not think that they are just imaginary phenomenon and would not ever take place in our lifetime. NASA has said that asteroid attack on earth is inevitable and our planet is vulnerable.

The space research organization is very much aware of the threat these celestial objects pose to the earth, reported Catholic Online. This is why it has sponsored several academic projects to ascertain the methods that will help to save Earth in case of  meteor strikes. The scientists have thought of blowing the meteor up in the space or changing its orbit with the help of solar sails.

However, these solutions will take time to transform into reality. So, does that mean human beings are doomed if the scientists run out of time?

The sad answer is yes, and it is very likely that nations would not react. The only ones who can harbor hopes of safety would be the people with privileges. The ones who wield power and would have the money to buy safety gear like super strong bunkers.

This is indeed scary, but the Bible has mentioned it in Revelation Chapter 8. Also, it is not like people have not seen the catastrophic effects of meteor attack before. On Feb. 15, 2013, an undetected asteroid, weighing 14,000 tons, hit the earth in a massive way.

It exploded over a populated area and caused injuries to many people. Thousands of people were sent to hospital. The attack was really like a warning for what could happen in future and thus, one must be ready for it.

There might come a time when some destructive celestial object hits the earth and throws millions into the jaws of death. NASA definitely keeps monitoring the space for dangers but if it is out of the control of the scientists, they would not do much and human beings would be left at the mercy of their fates. Looks like only God can save them.
