Tesla Chief Elon Musk is getting ready to share the company's updated autopilot technology in its vehicles that were in operation since October 2014, without taking any chances on slip-ups. This had been Musk and his team's goal to perfect the software following a recent hacking incident.

Offering an array of upgrades to the current system in its Tesla cars, the autopilot software integrated within is said to be a huge advancement in the race towards self-driving cars. One of the enhancements done is that of heightened reliability for the updated radar system, says Musk, according to Wired.

It has also been announced that although the earlier Tesla Models S and X already had the sensors built into these versions two years ago, the Autopilot V8.0 system would allow it to download and work with the current hardware. The fit wasn't an easy fix, yet, Musk assures that Tesla was able to make it work.

Meet Tesla Model 3

One of noted self-driving cars of the future, Tesla Model 3 is an upcoming make of Musk and his team's continuous innovation in the campaign to spread driverless technology to the global car market, related IBT AU news. The company has stated in its official site that the Tesla Model 3 would be the most affordable driverless car that Tesla would be further known for, starting at $35K before taxes.

What to expect - Camper Mode and all

The lowered price range meant that Tesla Model 3 would also be comparatively smaller in built than its predecessors, except the new Tesla would have an additional space-saving feature included. The Model 3 would also have a better cooling system, with a more dense, 3rd generation battery courtesy of Tesla.

Future Tesla Model 3 users would further have the luxury of enjoying the outdoors as the new vehicle is slated to have foldable rear seats. This would give up to 66 inches of space, allowing outdoorsy individuals the benefits of an indoor tent.

With its low noise capability, Tesla Model 3 users would be able to enjoy peaceful slumber, as long as the driverless car's battery level is kept in check. It is also expected to run on a 215 mile range per charge. Musk is still yet to confirm on the Tesla Model 3's actual release date this year.
