Facebook is preparing for major changes in 2014 and these changes will allegedly cover its services, stock shares, and its application developments.

Recently, a new U.K study revealed that teens age 16 to 18 consider Facebook “dead and buried” and wouldn’t even want to be associated with it because they don’t like getting into circles where their parents are in and can see what they are up to.

However, though teen users of the site decreases, the social site sees escalation in its monthly active users, which are mostly older and overseas.

When asked if he ever worried that Facebook might suddenly disappear, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Facebook, told Business Insider, “People assume that we’re trying to be cool. It’s never been my goal. I’m the least cool person there is! We’re almost 10 years old so we’re definitely not a niche thing any more so that kind of angle for coolness is done for us.”

Furthermore, he implied that he wanted to make Facebook some kind of an online utility that users can use when they want and need to.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the changes in the company will not just be purely with its mother site, but with its acquired applications also such as Instagram. Though Facebook is not the best and coolest app anymore, with applied improvements in its photo-sharing app, the company will never lose anything.

The company also plans to fix problems and issues with its mobile messaging app, which is currently used by a small number of individuals.

Lastly is Facebook’s least-understood plan of being the leader in Artificial Intelligence, speech recognition (voice command), and machine learning. Actually, the company has recently hired a machine learning guy to lead that effort.

As 2014 nears its opening, there are a few planned changes in the once-most loved social site on the Web that we can keep an eye on and all we can do is to wait for its transformation.
