The news Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce is now spreading like wild fire in the internet. Everyone is definitely shocked and saddened to realize that the divorce rumors have been true all along.

In the heat of the divorce news, Brad Pitt finally decided to speak up and release his first official statement to People.

"I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids", Brad Pitt was quoted saying regarding his divorce with wife, Angelina Jolie.

The 52-year-old actor also ask the press to spare their six children especially now that they are in the middle of a very challenging time.

Several sources told People that time might also be a factor in the couple's fall-apart as they spent less time together this year because of their busy schedules. Nevertheless, the divorce came as a disbelief to many especially those close to the couple.

Angelina Jolie has not yet commented regarding the divorce and instead, ask for the privacy of their family through her attorney, Robert Offer.

In an E! News exclusive, Angelina's manager, Geyer Konsinski gave his thought that the actress has her family's best interest and appreciates everyone understanding their need for privacy at this challenging time.  

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce on Monday on the grounds of "irreconcilable differences". The couple have been separated since September 15.

There are many reports instigating rumors that the real reason for the divorce is Brad Pitt's extra-marital affair with Marion Cotillard. Marion Cotillard is the actor's co-star in the new World War II film, Allied.

The actress is requesting for full physical custody of their six children but no spousal support from the actor. Brad is still to be allowed visitation right, though.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have six children together: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
